The annual Howard Center/GRACE exhibit held each year in August at the Arts Alive Gallery presents new work from over 30 participants who regularly attend the weekly art workshops funded by the Howard Center and facilitated by GRACE. The workshops are energetic gatherings of people whose common interest is making art. GRACE – Grass Roots Art and Community Effort – is a non-profit arts organization based in Hardwick, Vermont that strives to discover, develop, promote and preserve the work of self taught artists throughout northern Vermont. GRACE purposely shies away from teaching “how to”, instead encouraging participants to explore their whims and impulses with various art mediums to discover and develop their own way of making art. The exhibit reflects the workshops open ended approach and the energy its participants bring to the workshop in the variety of styles and mediums presented. This exhibit will be up for the month of August. A reception for the artists will be held on Thursday, August 23 from 11:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. All are welcome to attend.
