Exhibition Runs till January 26th

Members of the Board of Directors of Art’s Alive present original works in a variety of media at the Art’s Alive Gallery at Union Station.

Dostie
Dostie is a painter, event producer, performance artist, production designer, custom picture framer, and native Vermonter who has been living and working in Burlington for ten years. He is currently the manager of the Box Art Studio on Pine Street and the Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Art's Alive.

Mary Ellen Manock
Mary Ellen has lived in Burlington for 21 years and has been an Art’s Alive Board member since 1999. The beauty of the Champlain Valley inspires her work in various media. Spending time outdoors year round, constantly watching the play of light on water and ice, the contrast of the sunlight through the tree branches, and the building of luminous color in the sky, in the woods, fields, even on insects, are the endless sources of stimulation for the making of art.

Lisa McCormick
The combination of a Vermont upbringing and New York City art school training has been a strong foundation for Lisa McCormick's work as an artist. Growing up in the idyllic Green Mountains gave her a keen appreciation for landscapes as well as the beauty in the details around her, while her degree in illustration helped to hone her artistic eye and broaden her skills in a variety of mediums. Her oil paintings and photography are a reflection of the adventures she has in her daily life, both big and small, and her love for capturing those fleeting moments that life offers us.

(michael smith)
(michael smith) is a self-taught artist living in Underhill. His painting style is always under constant revision. He is concerned with color, puns, popular culture, nonsense, surrealism, symbolism, humor, science, etc.

About the Gallery

Each month, Art's Alive presents art from Vermont artists or arts organizations. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8AM to 8PM and Saturday from 9AM to 4PM.

The Art's Alive exhibition program brings communities together around art. The gallery at Union Station shows Vermont artists and art from other artist groups. In 2006, we exhibited work by the Community High School of Vermont, members of the Northern Vermont Artist Association, Chittenden County High School Seniors, and Grassroots Art and Community Effort (GRACE). Art's Alive also participated in the 2006 South End Art Hop.
