Pamela Dunning

"Painting, for me, is a cathartic process. I hope my paintings will in some way connect with someone on an emotional level so there is no separation between the observer and the observed." -P. Dunning

Pamela Dunning is a Burlington artist composing mainly non-objectives using oil on canvas. Pamela's paintings explore her personal journeys through mind and emotions. She began her professional training at age three at the Estelle Seymour Art Studio in Indiana and continued her training at Indiana University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University in 2000. Her paintings are in private collections in the United States and Canada, as well as in India. After living in three states of the United States and Canada and traveling widely through Europe, India and Canada, non-objective painter Pamela Dunning is convinced that the ecosystem of which we are part of profoundly affects the way we perceive, think and express ourselves. Her paintings express appreciation for cultural and religious diversity but also in different locations in the world. Pamela also draws inspiration from the natural beauty of Vermont. She loves being an artist and hopes to be able to paint for galleries. Her future plans include solo and group shows in Europe, Canada and India.

Terri Petrie

“ Doing my ART is the place I go that is timeless; therefore rewarding to all parts of me.” - Terri Petrie

Terri Petrie is a quiet artist in Shelburne. Terri’s work encompasses pastel drawings of mostly pieces taken from nature. Although her and work-life have been very eclectic, “ART” has been the common thread found in all of her endeavors. As she says, “ART” continues to find her. She studied Art in Greece at the Aegean School of Fine Arts as an exchange student from Antioch College. She has an A.A. in Fine Arts and a B.A. in Liberal Studies, as well as having been trained as a Waldorf High School Art Teacher. In the last two years, her art has been exhibited around the area at several local restaurants and libraries. At present, she uses her artistic abilities while teaching and running her Waldorf-inspired Preschool (Terri’s Morning Garden) as well as in her consulting business as a Soul Coach.

Lili Ruane

The artist writes, "It is my intent to express subtle inner energies and intuitive space through my Art. My paintings and sculptures reflect the wonderful, energetic experiences of my spiritual journey. Some are internal visions, others external. I work with principles of Sacred geometry, harmony, love and multidimensional space. For many years, I painted realism as a metaphor for my inspirations. I recently switched from oil paint to acrylic. Having made this transition, I changed my approach to employ more abstract forms of reality. I also began creating sculptures as a vehicle for expanding this exploration. My training in Art was about shape, color, light and paint. Since releasing ‘realistic’ subject matter, I am enjoying exploring the microcosm and macrocosms of alternative realities."

Each month, Art's Alive presents art from Vermont artists or arts organizations. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8AM to 8PM and Saturday from 9AM to 4PM.

The Art's Alive exhibition program brings communities together around art. The gallery at Union Station shows Vermont artists and art from other artist groups. In 2006, we exhibited work by the Community High School of Vermont, members of the Northern Vermont Artist Association, Chittenden County High School Seniors, and Grassroots Art and Community Effort (GRACE).
